Double coating

Coating paper with two layers of cyanotype sensitizer has always given me better tonal range

Double exposures

• Coat the paper
• Expose your first layer
• Let it dry
• Coat your paper again
• Expose your second layer

Multi-color printing

A double exposure with a toning step in between

• Coat your paper
• Expose your first layer
• Tone your first layer with tea, coffee, etc.
• Let it dry
• Coat your paper again
• Expose your second layer

Another way to acheive multi-color cyanotype prints is to use colored paper.
